Long Time no Update!
Sep. 6th, 2004 02:13 pmYay it's an up date! Since I last updated I haven't done too much, but the family (Mum, Dad, Ben, and Georgie) and myself all went to the Oregon State fair in Salem. It was fun, the state fair is very cool and quite large. There was the usual suspect as for animals, cows, ducks, chickens, horses, and the unlikely- snakes and insects. It was neat to see them all. You'd think I wouldn't be that interested in animals living in the country and all but I was and am. Since I have learned to spin I have really wanted to get a sheep just to have it's wool, that and I like sheep, and around the fair I was practically drooling, such lovely wool a great deal of those sheep had! There was a 4H guy, of about my age I guess, grooming a sheep with an old fashioned pair of shears and I thought that was really atractive. I don't know why, maybe I'm wierd but I love a gentle young man with sheep. It's like a strange atraction to sheperds(sp)(I don't know why I can't spell that word all of a sudden.) It's not really a strange atraction beacuse I'd just like to cuddle a sheperd(sp) not do anything weird with him lol!
I'm sorry I really tierd right now he he. I've been at Devin's at his Lan party and we have been gaming since yesterday with the exception of maybe five-six hours of sleep. It has been cool though ^_^. I get slaughtered in first peerson shooters all the time. I don't get mad about it though because it's just a game. I do laugh like hell however! The games we usually play are CS, Tribes 2, Regengade(SP). I'm am so excited this is my first go at my new comp which Devin has built for me. I love it it's great. It will be SO nice to have my own comp again! The only thing I think I will need to ask Devin about is Microsoft word. Besides the internet microsoft word was the thing I needed most, and it doesn't seem to be on here. I love this comp already though! ^_^
Also at the fair I saw a cow being milked, something Ihave seen before, but is still very interesting. This milking was supervised by the Dairy princess. I thought the idea of a Dairy Princess was um--interesting and one thing I wondered was how excatly does one become a Dairy Princess? It was funny though, I'm such a medieval/history freak that I was wandering about the animal barns wanting to use the animals for their practical purposess---like milking cows and, spinning wool from sheep, collecting chicken eggs, and riding the horses. Lol I am such a freak sorry! After that we went on some rides woo hoo. Ben and I are major ride goers. If it's crazy, and spins around, goes upside down, or just REALLY fast, we will so certainly go on it! The first one we went was the vintage chair swing ride with the little wicker basket type chairs which swing around at a hight. That ride is a fun one. But I must say it's kind of scary, as it's just a tiny little wicker seat and you swinging around by this little dog chain like chain, so it feels kind of precarious! I love the older rides though just as much as the thriller rides. One of the things I love of the more vintage rides is the way they are decorated. I love the lanscapes and the victorian ladies with their hair all swooped up. After the swing ride we went on all the more hardcore ridings, and it was good! (so quoth the old testement lol) *I claim tiredness for my insanity, in fact that works most the time.* Also that night there was a gorgeous moon it was very round, and silver, and pure! After leaving the fair we went to Deny's, call me misinformed, but I had no idea Deny's stayed open for 24 hours! It must be very lonely working the 1:00 am shift at a Deny's! I had a salad and Mum and Dad, who I think are crazy sometimes, both had deep fried type breakfast foods at 12 at night lol they crack me up!
Well that's about all that happened with the fair. I'm glad I managed to write about it before it just got too far into the past for me to do it. Other things I have been up to besides the Lan party and the fair include mostly WRITING! Yay! I have been feeling bad about my writting for most the Summer, but with the last few days my creativity damping clouds seem to have diminished, at least enough to allow me to get through more writing. The other night I read a small excerpt from my novel to Sheri and she said it was throughly and utterly boring. Which is kind of sad, but I suppose maybe it is... It didn't bother me though as I think after six years I have gotten to a point with my book that I have come to love it so much that critism just doesn't really bother me. However I love Sheri for being so truthful with me though, I don't think she has ever given me a bias lol! Sheri and Mum are diffinately(sp) the Queens of no biases and I think they are great for it. I mean if I have written or drawn somethin that they like then I truely feel please with it!
It was great fun though Sheri Amy, and I were thinking of ways my book could be useful for. I suggested that hospitals could use an auto version of my book as ether in hospitals. Amy said it would probably be one of those books people leave on their coffee table to make them look intelligent, or well read, or what have you. They both said however that it would probably have a SMALL fan following YAY! Now no one who reads my LJ will want to read my novel *cries* No lol, I really love it, and I think it will be the sort of books that if you can read Tolkien you should be able to read my book. Not saying that Tolkien is boring NOT IN THE LEAST! I'm merely saying that some people like for instance, my mum, Amy, and, Sheri, find it hard if not impossible to get through, while I absolutely love Tolkien. I don't think my story is written in a Tolkien style, but I think it is kindof long winded and very detailed lol. Anyway I shouldn't keep on and on about my book, it's not that interesting a topic I guess it's just always on my mind. Wow this entry turned out long. Oh well, I needed to write a new long entry. I am feeling accompished now ^_^. I think I may post again later, I may be back MMWAHAHAH!
