Wow! It feels like I haven't posted in ages. He, He, and here I was thinking I would keep up with a journal better online...Uh, Yeah right lol! School has been keeping me really busy as of late. I have come to think Junior year isn't so difficult due to hard work, its more difficult due to the amount of work. *Sigh* I could do doing homework right now even. Oh well soon it will be Summer, and after that it will be senior year. Senior year should be really nice. I can't wait be taking the Humanities classes even though it promises to be really rigorious. I won't matter, I have been waiting all through school to formally take a world history class. I have been studying world history for ages, but have yet to have had a class which involves the subject. The English class sounds really fab. too; I can't wait to read Dante's Inferno! I really enjoy Mediveal Poetry! The rest of my schedule is mostly art classes so I can relax more and won't feel so overloaded, and the courses that will help me to get the work I hope to while I am in college. All in all then even though I am really fed up of this year I am quite looking forward to next year, yay!

Not too much has happened since last I wrote, but there have been a few things that have happened that I have been meaning to write about and haven't had time too, or just didn't really want to write about them and I wouldn't mind doing so now.

The first event was The Great Spring SCA Ithra I went to over Spring Break. It was fab. the Irtha (which is a teaching SCA event) (the SCA= Medeival/Reniassance re-enactment see www.sca.org ) was held at Pacific University which is located Forest Grove. It was a lovely day on the Saturday and I got to the site by about 1ish to take my first class, So you want to be a heretic? That was a very interesting class, he he it gave some cool ideas for writing pieces and what not. My next class was The no Sh** I was there history of An Tir and that was great too. The teacher of that class was a knight and it was really cool to hear all the stories he had to tell. The college itself was lovely it had very green suroundings and was made all of brick. It would be a lovely place to go to school, but I have heard that it is very expensive.

I think I am going to post this as it is and then making another post finish the story of the Ithra and the afters party, and Irish Feast, and about Alex and Aidan, so I'll be back shortly mmwwahah!

I'm just going to jump right in and continue on about the Ithra. At the Ithra I was lucky enough to make two great friends Alex (Alexandria) and her husband Aidan. They are both two of the nicest people I have met. They gave me a ride home from the Irtha on both days and said they would be glad to have me carpool with them to other events. They even paid for my dinner at the afters party. I felt bad the next day because I was ditzy enough to forget to pay them for it! I did pay them for it that day though. They also have horses and ride at events. Man, would I love to ride at SCA events!

The afters party was great! It was held at Mc Miniums (ooh I think I spelled that very wrong. If anyone have been there you might know what I'm talking about ^_^.) It was a great resturant type pub place. It as all in one instead of separate like those sort of palces usually are. The walls and halls were lined with a variety of all different types of art, photos, paintings, and what have. It was like a cornacopia of culture. It also had lots of wooden boths and decorative bars like English pubs and little nooks and cranies. It was a very cool place and I recommend it to anyone who would like a diffent sort of place to go on a date to, or just to have dinner at, the food is delious! I had a great ceasar salad and a root beer, and really enjoyed talking to Alex and Aidan and many other SCAians.

On Sunday I took three more classes. These were A History of Knitting, A History of Foot Coverings, And A Primer for The Goode Medieval Wife. In the knitting history class I finally learned what a Sprang was, go me (I have been trying to find that one out forever!). In the foot coverings class I learned even more neat little tid-bits about leg coverings! Big Calves were thought to be very attactive in medieval times and men and women used to stuff their hose (tights looking leg coverings) with bran packets if they thought they were in need of a little "enhancement"! I thought that was very cool as I love the human side of history the best! The Primer for the Goode Medieval Wife was very awesome too. It was wonderful to learn about the Medieval Marriage. It wasn't as bad as we often think it was, and not too much has changed really when it comes to relationships. I thought that was neat, just goes to show love's a timeless thing ^_^.

On Sunday night I was so tired. Lol I am always so tierd after events it's a good sort of tierd though. Like a I've been so pleasantly busy all day and now I'm worn out. It's the sort of tierd one used to have as a little child. Ah SCA :). It was great having Alex and Aidan to be with, I usually go to events alone and I was getting tierd of being lonely.

Last weekend I went to another SCA event called Irish Feast. It is held by the Shire of River's Bend which is Kelso WA and the surrounding area. I went to the feast last years also. It was a lovely day. I wore my other dress as it was a feast and my other torquois dress is more fancy than my peasant gown, and therefor a little better for a feast.

Before the feast I joined the good gentles playing botche. It was great fun, and I was surpized to find I have some skill with a botche ball! I ended up winning nine games of botche, and I hadn't played in so many years! It was crazy! It was so lovely to be outside too, the weather was so fantastic, not like last Irish Feast (It was all torrental down pours last year, and still fun lol). After much botche playing I went into the Feast Hall, which was the Longview armory, it was a great place to have the event. While inside I looked around the merchant's booth owned by one of the gentles I had played botche with. He had lots of lovely brooches, cloak claps, rings, and little metal wrought pins which had funny quotes on them. I nearly, nearly bought one that said Kilt inspector, but I didn't as it was a bit spendy. So instead I bought one that said Huzzar it. He he I can't wait to wear it to school and people asking me, what does Huzzar mean, oh lol I love being medieval! After I bought the pin I watched people dance. I haven't done any formal dancing since that disasterous morris dancing I did while in England, Oh man that was bad! I'm really clumsy! It was great watching though! The feast food was really good as was the bardic compation held before the table of the Prince and Princess of Summits. That was very cool. Finn (who is the Husband of Anderwyn, the kindly lady who signed of me to go to William Tell last year, and who was one the first SCA people I met) played his bagpipes for the Prince and Princess. It was great not only were they awesome sounding, but the Star Wars theme, and Happy Birthday are too of the funniest songs ever to hear on pipes!

I was really suprized towards the end of the feast to recieve an award! I was awarded a adorable tiny basket with three little chocolate truffles inside for being one of the winners of the botche games! I must have been blushing so badly when I went and bowed before the Prince and Princess. I had such a lovely time! Irish Feast is a great event!

To it all off, mum and I watched Ever After that evening, I really love that movie. Not only do the characterS rule, but the gowns and every bit of the clothing in that movie are just so gorgeous. It looks very period. Oh good stuff! Looking back on it I have had a great past few weekends with SCA. I am really hoping to go the Day of Dance next weekend, but I will have to call Alex and see if she is going, then I wold have a ride home. It would be nice to have some company too. After that is The Baltane Ithra on the first of May which I'm sure I'm going to with Alex, Aidan too if he isn't busy. I should be so fun. I have good classes! The day of dance will have fire blowers, and sword and fire dancers too I'm really hoping I can go. And there are even more events to look forward to in the Summer, yay! Well that's about it. I will try to keep up more with this journal.
