Keeping Busy
Apr. 14th, 2004 06:56 pmI don't have anything interesting to report today. As nothing of interest happened today. School can be very boring sometimes, I would say all the time, but I must admit it has it's moments.
Speaking of school and it's interesting moments I am really looking forward to Humanities next year. I have heard that we will be watching Sparticus in the history part if the course! I love that movie! I think its a very good period movie especially for the time it was made and its a great film all the way through. I love it when Sparticus gets put in that cell with the Briton slave woman (whose name I can't remember) and he is expected to have sex with her. In responce he cries out in frusteration "I am NOT an animal!" My Dad is always quoting that part and it never fails to at least make me chuckle! I love the rebels of history they are really fantastic to read about, they really liven things up and help give a human-ness to history.
I also read more from the Queen of the Lightening today. It's been pretty good so far its not exactly an action packed story right now, but I like that really. I like reading about people and their lives. The Heroine is kind of annoying me right now, I don't want to say annoying because that is somewhat harsh. She has been ordered to marry an Anglo-saxon man as she is the last of the her kingdoms celtic dynasty. This isn't a good state of affairs of her as she is in love with another man. She makes a plan to sleep with the man and in that way pervent her marriage to the Anglo-Saxon. I thought she was being silly. I don't blame her for not wanting to marry someone she doesn't love, but to sleep with another man just before another marriage isn't a good idea either. If she has a child to this man and her family were to find out it wouldn't be well with them for sure! Anothering thing which is kind of strange is she has only known this man for not even a week and already they wanted to be married. I can't imagine moving that fast with someone. Maybe that is just me though. All that said I am still enjoying the book, and will certainly keep reading it. I've critiqued it quite hard but I know it's a lot of hard work to write a historical novel especailly one that is honored with England's Historical Novel prize. To end I should keep my mouth shut. It's quite like a soap opera right now and I enjoying the drama lol!
Wow speaking of nothing interesting today, I was wrong! I just had someone ask to be added to my MSN messenger on Trillian and I have no clue who it is. I guess it's on of thoses ask and you will recieve sort of things. I was hoping something interesting would happen and it has. Well I had better get off here and do something of a constructive manner ^_^.
